Peace and Patriotism
As the community of Nations fights off those that are at
the forefront of recent events, it is certain that Americans will wave the U.S.
Flag, even more so than usual. This can already be seen throughout the Country
with small flags waving from the cars that we drive, large flags hanging from
the houses that we live in and in unlikely places as well, such as on the sides
of large buildings, draped across bridges, and on much of the clothing that
people are wearing. This too, will more than likely, raise the awareness of and
drive many to collect Patriotic memorabilia...most likely anything adorned with
the Flag.
And as some of us gear up for the fight, many also reflect on a more peaceful
resolution. Much as in the late 60's when turmoil created a revolution in
thought throughout our Country, it can be expected that many will seek out
symbols of peace in this time of uncertainty. Peace symbols, along with their
Mod Daisy cohort, were seen on anything and everything including glassware,
jewelry, posters and the like. While these items were most certainly
mass-marketed and even now can be found in relative abundance, prices on these
items are certain to rise as more and more people seek them out.
